On 12th January 1991, a handful of youth from Bačka Topola interested in environment and nature protection held foundation session of Arcus Ecological Association. Section founded in 1988 within Youth Association is considered as predecessor of Arcus Ecological Association. In the beginning many people helped the work of section, but soon the activity declined.
Amongst other, this was the main reason that inspired the founders to form one independent civil organization. The idea was fruitful and the association started some of actions and events which were hold for many years. Naturally, there are actions and events that are still organized by present members of association. The best known are the series of popular science lectures and the summer Eco-camp.
We hope that the Arcus will have important role in environment and nature protection in the future, same as in the past 25 years. We believe that the number of our members will continue to grow and that many people will join the actions and events that we organize.
